The American Red Cross, FEMA & Ready.gov recommend every household store food in case of a pandemic or other emergency.
As inflation and the stability of the nation and the world become increasingly precarious and uncertain, stocking up on long-term food supplies that will keep you and your family nourished in a major supply chain disruption is more important than ever.
To help ensure you are prepared for the unknown, we offer many nutrient-dense superfoods with long shelf lives and can be purchased in bulk sizes of 1 lb, 5 lbs, and larger.
What is the best food to store for an emergency?
Unlike most emergency storage foods that are low quality, high in unhealthy processed carbohydrates, and of low nutritional value, many healthy alternatives can be safely stored.
Our quality foods are typically freeze-dried or low-temperature dried and then powdered and sealed in airproof and light-proof foil pouches to preserve nutrients and extend the shelf life.
But the best part is that you don’t have to wait for an emergency to enjoy them. Many people purchase expensive MREs or freeze-dried packaged meals, and while they serve their purpose, often, they will never get used.
But our foods can be enjoyed anytime … and should be.
After all, can you enjoy fresh organic cashews, bone broth, and mashed potatoes right now?
Of course, you can.
We suggest simply buying an extra bag or two of your favorite products with each order and setting it aside in your pantry for emergencies.
Many emergency plans suggest having enough food on hand for at least one month. So let’s begin there.
How much food do I need for a month?
Let’s start with the math.
One month is 30 days.
One person will typically need three meals per day and a snack or two throughout the day. So, 3 meals x 30 days = 90 meals + some snacks.
This is super easy to do with the delicious superfoods from Z Natural Foods.
- 30 breakfast meals
- 30 lunches
- 30 dinners
- 30 days of snacks
Again, unlike most emergency foods, we will focus on providing you and your family with nourishing, tasty, real food.
Here’s an example of two plans you could quickly develop. If you have more in your family, just increase the amounts accordingly. And if you have dietary preferences of foods you most enjoy, such as vegan cashew milk instead of whole dairy milk, you can easily swap those out.
And above all, have fun with this!
