4 min read time Apr 26, 2022

Description

You probably love the creamy flavor that cream cheese adds to almost any food!

In fact, cream cheese is a delicious spread on toasty bagels or a common ingredient in tasty desserts.

However, you may not keep cream cheese on hand very often because cream cheese, like other fresh cheese, is perishable.

Fortunately, cream cheese is available in powdered form.

Cream Cheese Powder is very versatile and can be used as a replacement for traditional cream cheese. One of the most common uses for cream cheese powder is as an ingredient for dips. Cream Cheese Powder adds creaminess and richness to just about any food or recipe used in baking, creams, sauces, and as a thickener and a flavor additive by sprinkling it on foods and snacks, including popcorn, eggs, crackers, or toast.

4 tasty benefits of cream cheese powder

Cream cheese powder is dehydrated cream cheese (using low heat or air-drying methods) – and is an alternative to traditional fresh cream cheese that offers several excellent benefits:

  1. Powdered cream cheese has a safer and longer shelf life (up to 12 months),
  2. Does not require refrigeration until reconstitution using water,
  3. Helps prevent food wastage, and
  4. It is ideal for spontaneous or emergency needs.

7 common uses for cream cheese powder

Just like traditional cream cheese, there are many things you can do with powdered cream cheese.

How Do You Mix Cream Cheese Powder?

Most recipes where you can use cream cheese powder require that you reconstitute (or mix) the powder.

Here are some general guidelines for mixing your cream cheese powder.

Powdered cream cheese mixes easily with water and whips up quickly to enable you to prepare your delicious dishes in no time.

To replace traditional cream cheese with powdered cream cheese, whisk together 3 parts of powdered cream cheese and 1 part of water in a bowl and refrigerate. Whisk until it is well blended and creamy. Use more or less water to achieve your desired consistency.

Add more water if you desire a thinner consistency, and add more cream cheese powder to get a thicker consistency.

Refrigeration will be necessary once you have reconstituted cream cheese powder.
