Black seed oil, also known as black cumin seed oil, is derived from the Nigella sativa plant, native to parts of Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.
The seeds of this plant have been used for centuries in traditional cuisine in these regions. Records of its use date back as far as the time of ancient Egyptians, who believed it to have powerful constituent properties.
It was even reportedly found in the tomb of King Tut.
