About Product
Guarana is a berry native to the Amazon rainforest and has been used by indigenous people for centuries.
It is widely used in Brazil in soft drinks and energy drinks. The seed contains a quality amount of caffeine, about four times the amount in coffee beans.
It also contains saponins, which are plant constituents that may have supportive qualities.
The guarana seed is a source of carbohydrates, dietary fiber, and several B vitamins. It also contains a small amount of protein and some minerals, including iron and potassium. The seed is also a source of theobromine and theophylline.
The guarana seed has been used traditionally for its stimulant properties, similar to coffee.
Some research suggests that Guarana may contain the following constituents:
- Phytochemicals: Guarana-tannic acid, Caffeine, Pyro-guarana acid, Saponins, Tannin, Theobromine, Theophylline, Xanthine
- Other: Pectin, malic acid, mucilage, dextrin, salts, Vegetable fiber, Reddish resin, Starch, Water
Suggested Use: Brew as a tea, in food, and snack items. Two grams of guarana seeds contain approximately 80 mg of natural caffeine.
Infusion: Use the ratio of 1 tablespoon of product for every 8 ounces of distilled water. Bring water to a boil and then take off the stove. Put tea in a pot or a mug, fill it with water, and cover it for 15 minutes. (This method is specific for whole-leaf herbs and teas.)
Tincture: This method can take 15 to 30 days. You will need three items (a mason jar with a cover, the herb/herbs of your choice, and liquid for extracting). The extracting liquid can be alcohol, alcohol/ water combo, vinegar, or vegetable glycerin. Take the product and fill the jar ¾ full, add the liquid of your choice, and close the jar. Then shake the jar, so everything is well mixed. Give the jar a good 5-minute shake several times a day. After 15 to 30 days, strain and bottle in glass tincture jars.
